November started with a gotong-royong with Sunway University student volunteers who comes by twice each year as their community activity. They focused on the medicinal plants plot as supervised by our staff, Suhaimi Soefjan Joenoes and Mohd Zuraimi Razali.
On 8th November, Rimba Ilmu's staff Ilyana Hassya and Aina Yasmin conducted a herbarium training workshop for course volunteers under Session 2025/2026 Semester 1. The 18 participants were taught on digitizing, stitching, mounting, and how to find solutions to problems they might face during their volunteering.
15th November was packed with both gotong-royong and a guided walk. The gotong-royong involved course volunteers and were led by Dr Yong Kien Thai where they focused their efforts on the palm link area. The guided walk conducted by Ilyana was with participants known to Prof. Ng Kwan Hoong as he recommended Rimba Ilmu to them. Both activities were a success.
At UPM on 25th November, Ilyana and Aina gave a lecture for "The importance of biodiversity and seed conservation in modern agricultural systems", a day program organized by UPM with their agro-preneur focused students. They also visited UPM's hydroponic farm and heard from other experts on soil management.
